Default The Australian Mandolin Quartet video demo

A short video featuring the four instruments of my Australian Mandolin Quartet, each separately as yet. A recording of all four at the one time is being organised. Thanks to the wonderful Tony Hunter for recording and playing them. For those who missed the previous announcements they are made from almost entirely Australian timbers with King Billy pine soundboard, Blackwood backs and sides and Queensland maple necks. Two 13.875" mandolins, a 16.5" mandola and a 25.5" mandocello.

    Gorgeous instruments, wonderful tone.
I like the F hole mandolin tone and was particularly fond of the mandola, but then again I am particularly fond of mandolas anyway.
    Hats off!

They sound as good as they look. That project was quite an undertaking. Thanks for sharing.

I had hoped that an ad in the Classified for the Quartet might have generated an offer or two, but to no avail. I did finally get some of the local mandolin orchestra folks to record a couple of short tracks. Here is a link to the audio of an old Australian dance tune, The Tea Tree Waltz played on the quartet, recorded direct to stereo on Soundcloud.
