I sent an email and now I've called a couple of times with no answer and no voicemail available. Thought I'd touch base with a local builder first before ordering a build from TN or KY.

I guess I could add about ten more names to the same question. I've spent an hour trying to contact NC builders about something similar to Ken Ratliff's Econo A model. I try to support local guys when I can. But I haven't been able to touch base with anyone in NC. Emails bounced back, web pages down, no voicemail, etc. I guess mandolin making ain't zackly a good long-term career move. On the few web pages I did find most have closed their custom orders.
Trying Mr Bernabe next, but I think I read somewhere he's a year out.

If you don't mind sneaking across the NC/Va state line, there is Spencer Strickland in Lamsburg Va, just off I77 a few miles north of Mount Airy.

She went ahead with the Silverangel that just came off Ken's bench.
I'm sure it's been tough for custom builders the last few years. Between Covid and now the crazy economy.
Spencer Strickland a good choice.
.
How about that Condino guy? Jim! Are you out there?
