    Default Bluegrass and Oldtime jams in NY around 10th of February

    Hi everyone,
    I'm french and come to visit US wishing to learn more about mandolin, bluegrass and oldtime music. I'll be in New York for one week from the 9th of February. Is anyone has recommendation for places to go there to hear,play and meet people?

    Where in NY? There's a lot of good stuff there - I'm less familiar with the NYC scene these days which is where I assume you're heading - but if you are going upstate, the Hudson Valley BG scene is pretty good too.

    Probably the hottest BG jam in the city is at Mona's in the East Village, 9pm every Monday. There's also the jam at Sunny's Bar in Red Hook on Saturday nights at 8pm.

    The Sheriff's Jam is on the 21st so you will miss it.

    There is sometimes a slower/intermediate jam at An Beal Bocht in Innwood on Sat/Sun.

    Old time jam: Green Room on 23rd Street but that one is next Tuesday, February 7. There is another one up in our area in Beacon, NY (second Tuesday of each month) on February 14. I run another up here in Yorktown Heights, but that is onthe 1st Friday of each month so the February one is tomorrow, February 3.
