Is anyone familar with this 1967 Donovan song recorded on an album titled" Gift From a Flower to a Rose Garden"? I have the lyrics, chords, but no melody.

Oh well... I've never heard it either
Thanks for the link, bolannta. I just got the disc and the song is a pretty one, but no mandolin. I was never a big Donavan fan in the 60's & 70's, but today his stuff strikes me as being very innovative folk-rock. What ever happened to Donavon? Did he just fade away into the flowers?
Yes, and as I recall they were yellow flowers to boot!Originally Posted by

Actually, he recorded a very beautiful album, "Sutras" on Rick Rubin's label in the late 90's or early 2000's. Pretty much all acoustic with an excellent selection of new Donovan songs. He played at the Ram's Head here in Annapolis last summer, but the tickets were $55.00; more than I can pay for a concert.Originally Posted by (Don Hess @ Feb. 25 2004, 13:48)
Donovan got so drawn into the hippy/flower-child image that he never was able to shake it as the 70's came. It's a shame because he was a talented singer/song writer/musician.
I'm pretty sure there was no gurdy in his HURDY_GURDY MAN either...
(how come clickable smilies don't work for me?)
