Thread: And another Strad O Lin

Default And another Strad O Lin

Just up on Goodwill, and another variant, maybe. Earlier than ‘50s,?,script stencil logo, a little bit of inlaid purfling, black neck. Fretboard resting on the top, but high up, one top crack with a large bulge, no pickguard, tail with removable, and missing, cover, nice homebrew case. It possibly is beginning to fold, as there is a big screw through the heel, and the bridge is set low, so maybe repair needed at more than value. Click image for larger version.

Ha! I came here specifically to post about this! I wanted to add a photo with the home-brew case for posterity, and a link for those interested: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/160254939

Looks close to the 1941 I had. Agree that the repairs are probably going to be more than it's worth. Am not totally positive the neck and body have always been together. My 1941 had a blonde neck. That looks to be the neck of a sunburst model. Although being SOL and the time period it might be original.
