    Default Beveled Dawg pick

I have heard good things about Dawg picks but just never could get used to how quiet they are. After beveling one, I am a fan. Give it a try. Click image for larger version.

Thanks Stoler, I'll have to give them another tryout. Bevel it is. I have a small stash of Dawg picks and dismissed them pretty quickly as being too similar to the Golden Gate picks. Thanks for posting a picture as well.

I have experimented with different bevels. It gives it just a bit of brightness that I think those picks are missing. The pick punch sanding block works really good

Find one that is already beveled and try copying that on the Dawg pick. It takes a bit of practice to see what you like. You bevel one side on the front and back. The big thing is getting a sand block so you have different grit paper to smooth it out. Those are pretty cheap Click image for larger version.

Is it actually worth the effort?

It does not take me too long and I prefer this pick to a Bluechip. For me it is worth the 10 minute investment of time, but others may disagree.

    Question Re: Beveled Dawg pick

Just that Bluechip is a different plastic ...
bet they'd make one in that shape & thickness if you asked.
