Default Sam Bush Homespun mandolin video lessons

What's the forum's take on the Sam Bush Homespun mandolin lessons?

I had intended to take face to face lessons this year, but some things came up, and it looks like the best I'll be able to do is download a few video lessons. I was thinking about these Sam Bush ones.

    Has anyone tried these?

I've always liked Home Spun's material, I may have borrowed the Sam from a friend so vaguely recall it, might have been 9 pound hammer and leather britches or something like that.
The Mike Marshall fun with arpeggios is a serious wall breaker for learners.
The David Grisman mandolin Home Spun (originally on cassette with printed booklet) is still bible to me.
My experience is the older school production so it didn't have things like slow downers or practice loops ( you had to figure out how to loop it yourself)
but the content is very thorough and rich, less instantaneous result, the learning requires more patience.

Actually, Homespun uses something called PurplePlatform for streaming their lessons as well as for a pc interface for downloading their lesson, and looping functions, etc. are included.

I have the Sam Bush lessons, they’re awesome. I love the Homespun material and own a lot of lessons for both guitar and mandolin. I recommend using them.

I have these Sam Bush lesson videos and I think they are well worth it. Sam is a good teacher and he's Sam. I think any advice or teaching from Sam is well worth it.

I suspect you've seen this parody video but if not it's pretty awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2DebQF8ED0

I think that may be from the Homespun videos.

The Mandolin Method DVD was one of the first instructional materials I had for mandolin. At that time, it was way over my head but I still picked up some useful information. I need to revisit it now that I can keep up a little better (18 years later lol).
I think my biggest annoyance was that I found Sam's tuning to be off from standard 440 and as a beginner I didn't understand how to correct to match it.
