Thread: New case for Northfield F5S

Default New case for Northfield F5S

I bought my Northfield in 2014, and the case is showing some wear. I’m considering a replacement that’s lighter than the plywood cases they supplied back then (and which incidentally doesn’t fit a Tone Guard). Does anyone have suggestions for a good fiberglass or composite case that’s a little below the price of a Calton. Thanks.

I'd consider the new Northfield cases. Even the current case that the F5S comes in (Airloom Recurve) is nice, and the F5S+ToneGard fits fine. Not something I'd walk over, but plenty protective for carrying around and stowing in an overhead.

Check out the Airloom Recurve on the Northfield site.

I have one for my Model M and it's a great case, and my F5S fits in there just fine. I don't have a ToneGard, but there's enough room for one. I think they are going for around $275

A Northfield with ToneGard fits in the regular recurve case just fine.

Was able to examine one of the carbon fiber Tura cases (I think it was the deluxe). It was also very nice.

Then again, another friend showed me his Crossrock case, and for the price, those are good too. Definitely a strong fiberglass case.

I like Crossrock cases for the money. Readily available. Choose your color. I think the blue interior is better than the red but both are good for under $300.

Here's a nice looking Hiscox for under $300

Here's a NF Airloom deluxe with a case cover for under $300

After that I would just hunt for a used Hoffee or Calton.
