    Default Ashbury Quality

Has anyone bought an Ashbury Mandola? I’m thinking about this one:

I haven't bought one, but I've tried several Ashbury instruments in my local Hobgoblin store. They're good for their price segment. The sort of thing that a hobby musician may play for many years and that a semi-pro may keep as a backup instrument.

I’ve owned 2 and played many. They make good starter up to intermediate instruments. They are proper mandolins for an affordable price with a decent sound.

Capo at second then you can play any tune that someone else is playing on mandolin, except that you will be playing an octave below (works as long as the tune doesn't go below the third string D note on the mandolin).

I tried one of these mandolas one time (though not sure if it's the same style), and I really liked the shape and size and range. Problem was that I tried the octave mandolin at the same time. It's a little bit more expensive but the tone it's quite different. In the end that's what I bought.

    Thanks for the responses, everyone!

I've decided to go with something else for now.
