Default Removing label from Gibson A model

I have a teens Gibson A in my shop, for regluing of a partially open back seam. The label is centered on the open seam, and has split or torn in line with the seam. I have advised the owner that the glue from my repair will likely discolor or stain the label(and he's ok with that). Has anyone ever successfully removed & reolaced the oval label through the soundhole to make such a repair? And if so, how?

Frank Ford's www.frets.com has this article.

Hi Mike, thanks, an excellent link! I have in past years found much helpful info for various other repairs, on Frank's site.

That old label was originally put on with hot hide glue.

Place a small damp warm cloth on it for ten minutes and it should come right off.

Re-apply with hot hide glue only when finished with the repairs.

Frank Ford's link, and description, worked like a charm(J. Condino describes the same technique). Thanks!
