Default Lyon & Healy Style A mandola: case needed

I recently acquired this wonderful piece of art and it came to me in a beaten up resonator banjo case from way back which is much too large. Any suggestions for where to find or to have made a case? I did phone Hoffee, but they don't want to deal with mandolas. Thanks for all suggestions.

Here is a maker that offers gig bags that might tide you over until you find a proper case...

Congratulations! What's the serial number on your mandola?

I acquired a vintage Maulbetsch & Whittemore rectangular double violin case from a violin dealer having a garage sale, and my luthier was able to repurpose its flexible divider and turn it into an L&H mandola case. It's a fairly snug fit but it works.

You might look about for an Access Stage III rectangular mandolin case. It might be roomy enough for an L&H mandola — I can check on this later.

    Thanks, everyone for the suggestions.

*Charley: I went to McNeela. The gig bag is roomy but I may go for it if other options fail. While there, you might chuckle, I did buy a case for my concertina.

*Baron Collins-Hill: Calton says they do have mandola cases and they emailed me a form for measurements, and I think they will require an outline. I've emailed MainStage and am waiting to hear back. Thanks.

*Martin: The mandola is serial number 11. You can see and even hear the very instrument at Jake Wildwood's site, here. I checked out the Access Stage III measurements as given at Elderly. Too small. But thanks for the suggestion.

*Louise NM: Luck happens! I'm counting on the same little lady to eventually get me an L&H mandocello. In the meantime, the sound of this mandola will be my daily bread.

Congrats. I have No. 1500. The first batch consists of Nos. 1 through 30 or so, and then there are just a handful with later numbers.

Fantastic looking mandola! I just got in a Style A mandolin today and will be looking to get a case to fit....along with replacement tuners (in another thread).

Highstrings, and it sounds as good as it looks. All of my mandos are "lifetime" instruments, but this one I want to take to the next world with me ... mmmm ... unless there are lots of flames there ... Reading your thread about the L&H mandolin, I can only wish you the best of luck with the tuners. Preaching to the choir, I know, but these are great instruments and worth the effort and expense to repair. If looking for a case, you might talk to Calton. They made a case for my L&H mandolin, as they had previously done for Cafe member Tim Logan, so I did not have to send them the sort of details mentioned below.

FYI, for those curious about getting Calton to customize a case for you: Calton will send a pdf with detailed instructions for very detailed measurements. This form must be returned with 3 specified photos and a life-sized outline of the instrument (for which they provide detailed instructions). It took me about an hour to put all these pieces together and get them into an envelope.
