Default What Is This Flatback Mandolin?

Hi gang! I have a photo of me when I was around 5 playing my grandfather's mandolin (early 80s). This would not have been anything very expensive I am sure. I figured I'd take a shot in the dark and see if anybody recognizes what it is. Wish we still had this old mandolin! (click on photo to view it larger)

    Thanks in advance,

    Doug

By it's size I'd say it's an octave mandolin.

I would have said the same thing!! My blind guess is that it was imported from Eastern Europe, likely Roumania.
