I am thinking of selling a Mandolin

And as a general rule what would it sell for ?
Should I ask 10% or 20% off retail the mandolin is mint.

Is it Red Diamond July 9 F or a pretty nice Gilchrist F

A lot of this depends on what your are selling and how desirable it is. If it is made by a luthier who has a long wait list and is seriously in demand you might be able to sell it for what you paid for it. You can always name your price and see if anyone is interested. Also, depends on how fast you want to move it.

It used to be 20-30% depending on condition. That's all been turned on its head lately.

The one at Gryphon was #96, built in 1998, so quite a bit older. It originally was listed at $6,500, but sat at that price for a few months. After Gryphon dropped the price by 10%, I think it sold a few weeks later.
