    Default New Irish Bouzouki

My new bouzouki arrived today. It's made by Gladstone Guitars & Ukuleles who are in Queensland, Australia. 625 mm scale, back/sides/neck: Tasmanian Blackwood, top: Western Red Cedar, fingerboard/bridge: Burdekin Plum, tuners: Gotoh baby 510, inlays: Paua shell, nut/saddle: buffalo horn, fretwire: Evo-Gold, K&K two spot transducers with MiSi preamp. From a first brief play it sounds great with a lot of body and plays extremely easily. The K&K with the battery-less MiSi (no onboard controls) sounds fantastic with no hint of quackiness.

That’s a handsome instrument! I like the depth of the body.
A couple years in, now, and still learning!

Yes it's a nice depth without being too deep. It's about 90mm at tail to 80mm at neck join.

A quick sound sample. It is a lovely instrument that I don't do justice. Hopefully my playing will improve to match the quality of the instrument.
