Default RIP Dix Bruce: Free livestream memorial concert 4/15

Multi-instrumentalist Dix Bruce passed away in January. He wrote Gypsy Swing and Hot Club Rhythm for both mandolin and guitar, among many other instructional books. There is a free livestream of his memorial concert today.

Acoustic Guitar has more about his life.

    May his memory be eternal.

I never met Dix Bruce but I knew of his many instruction books and materials. In fact I had a really nice collection of tunes, in various keys, with a cd which I
enjoyed playing along with. Sorry to hear about his passing.

Thanks for posting the concert link. That was a fine musical tribute to a man who was greatly respected and well-loved.
(My experience with Dix is limited to one of his sixty music books, and a string-changing video.)

"I never did have no trouble with him until he got big enough to be round with bigger boys and off from home. Then he used to follow all these harp blowers, mandoleen (sic) and guitar players."
