I saw that, and was not clear on what exactly it is.

I’m bidding. It looks like a perfect companion to the Developer that I’ve acquired. With both of these gadgets I see great improvements in my playing. I just have to figure out how they actually work.

It looks like the "Developer" is a string dampener of some sort.

The E-Z Play is secured to the fingerboard in alignment the frets and you push the buttons to play the notes. I guess that there would be a book of some sort with a play by number lesson.

I fooled around with the Developer a bit and couldn't really figure it out. I agree that it was meant to dampen the strings, but it mostly sounded like prepared piano or a pseudo sitar. I'm probably doing it wrong.

I went Amazon to see that monstrosity and saw in some comments how awful the video sounds of a guy demonstrating it, so of course I couldn’t resist wasting a little time looking up that video. Truly awful, especially so because he mentions newbies having finger discomfort before building callouses … what a waste such a devise would be for newbies! You’ll never build callouses using it. The guy demonstrating it claims to be a long time player and even he can’t make smooth chord transitions in his demonstrations, much less throw in any runs, etc.

Posting here in case anyone else enjoys watching bad videos.

He doesn’t actually seem to even be able to play in tune without the gizmo

Clearly not the same league of democratizing breakthrough as the autoharp for the zither, but still has possibilities, if revised for chords. Memories of fourth grade…
