Default Looking for: Pietrapertosa, Sérénade Napolitaine, 1894

Dear mandolinists, I'm looking for the piano part of the Sérénade Napolitaine written by J. Pietrapertosa.
A few more data: Sérénade napolitaine : pour mandoline (ou violon) et piano : op. 77 / par J. Pietrapertosa - À son élève madame Mathilde Nuguet D'Oliveira.
    Paris : G. Ricordi & C., t.s.1894
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Good luck. The only Pietrapertosa score I have on my own shelves are song arrangements by Mendelssohn and Schubert.

The Serenade doesn't seem to be in the very limited list of his works.

They don't seem to have that one, but the Library of Congress does have some of his works. There are also some arrangements in addition to these pieces

Neil's post got me thinking about the various library collections I've searched in the past.
The combined Italian libraries search shows a copy of score & mandolin part at the Santa Cecillia library in Rome :
    ISBN CMP0298847

BNF search doesn't list it, but does have many of the Pietrapertosas compositions:
    https://catalogue.bnf.fr/rechercher....tteModifiee=ok
And the wider combined libraries search is only one page longer:
Here's the link to the various search types in case the link above expires; (click the magnifying glass on to right of home page)
    https://www.bnf.fr/fr

The british Library has pretty slim pickings for Pietrapertosa, J. in the scores, but has a few not in the French collections. general search link: https://explore.bl.uk/primo_library/...tion/search.do

The ultimate library search page is worldcat.org. They still don't have that piece but 73 hits for Pietrapertosa, including his Marche des Fascistes, from 1923. Here's what they do have:

There are actually two composers called "J. Pietrapertosa", father and son. Those are the results for the son, Janvier Pietrapertosa Fils (born 1873). The Worldcat results for his father Jean Pietrapertosa (born 1855) are here:

    https://www.worldcat.org/search?q=Pi...it=10&offset=1

Still doesn't include this particular piece, though, and it's also not in the Nakano archive.

There is quite a lot of confusion between father and son, as they had the same initial, both wrote a mandolin method, and the son was only 18 years younger than the father. Looking at Worldcat, the earliest compositions catalogued under Janvier are dated 1885, which is likely a mistake as he was only 12 years old.

Michael Reichenbach has an interesting page on father and son Pietrapertosa, with sources:

    https://www.mandoisland.com/?p=8038

This discussion has inspired me to get out my spiralbound printout of Janvier's "Mandoline-Album" (1899) and record a few of his duet arrangements -- I'll post those in a separate thread.

Just in case it isn't clear to less familiar /newer members the links to the score for this piece available in Rome are just in the highlighted text for the words search and score at the start of my last post.

Thanks, Eoin. According to the Italian catalogue entry, this is a 1894 composition by Janvier, not Jean. If true, he was quite prolific to be up to Opus 77 by the age of 21, so this may also be a misattribution. The title of the catalogue entry says just "J. Pietrapertosa", but they have filed it under "Janvier".

Yes definitely the father. From what I've seen the son took to signing off with "fils" (junior) on his work. I think you're right that they've just bundled it in with his stuff too.

Thanks a lot! in fact, the SBN website was the first one I've checked... It means I'll have to stop by Santa Cecilia next time I'm in Rome

The pieces recorded by Martin are also sooo nice!
