Cool! Interesting how many styles it covers. I had to do a search on my Amazon app to find it there. I got a lot of other blues mandolin books I was unaware of and also found a mandoline for the kitchen colored blue.

In any case here’s the Amazon link: Blues Mandolin - From Mississippi to the Mediterranean: Roots, crossover and modern styl https://a.co/d/dwL8b7K

Thanks for that. Lino's certainly a fine blues mandolin player.
Robert Johnson's mother, describing blues musicians:
"I never did have no trouble with him until he got big enough to be round with bigger boys and off from home. Then he used to follow all these harp blowers, mandoleen (sic) and guitar players."

Jim, I just ordered this book on the strength of this thread. If it is not any good can I blame you? Seriously, it looked to be right up my alley as history and evolving genres are fascinating. Thanks for posting the link.

I got the book - I would say it's a wide-ranging approach that can benefit beginners and experienced players.

Sounds great! The video intro is awesome. I ordered mine on amazon. Even though I'm a beginner, I think it will be very interesting.

My copy arrived last week, and I went through the entire thing in a sort of general overview. There’s lots of great things to be learned, and I would say it is more of a beginners book But plenty to keep everyone interested. I will say the fingerpicking stuff is difficult on such a small fingerboard!

If you know enough theory it would be worth noting how they highlight certain chord tones to “make the changes”.

All in all a good resource.
