Default more Mark O'Connor Mandocello (again)

Mark ripping it as usual, Maggie 's singing and fiddling is the icing on the cake.

Only 4 Grammy's on the mantel? Maybe there is another on the way...they sure have the style and drive.

Someone needs to stop this man before the rest of us burn our instruments.

    Unbelievable. But great.

If I still owned a mandocello I might burn it, lol. I had a Weber Yellowstone that flat out rumbled, but the scale length made melody playing tough and I had a little trouble figuring out where it fit in with the band I was playing with at the time, so it eventually turned into a 20 inch scale length OM. Of course, Mark can make it fit in wherever he’d like…amazing…

A bit frantic for my taste...demostrates O'Connor's gymnastic abilities more than his superior musicality. I attended a Mandolin World News show at The Great American Music Hall in 1979 or 80 and wandered into the performers-only backstage area. I stumbled upon a young O'Connor and Mike Marshall, both armed with K4s, entertaining themselves in friendly duel in some dark hallway...that was nearly the best part of the entire evening!
