Default Need new headstock tuner, help!

I've got D'Addario micro headstock tuners on my mandos (that I love), BUT I've been hanging out on my covered back porch playing a lot recently and the display is really hard to see outside. I'm not sitting in direct sun, but it's quite bright even under cover out here in sunny New Mexico. (Middle-aged eyes probably aren't helping!)

Any suggestions on a headstock tuner with a brighter display that works well outdoors?

    Thank you!

Unitune, not only works well, is a lot more accurate, but the battery also lasts about 4-5 times as long as the D'Addario.

Thank you! You've found the display bright enough outdoors?

The new D'addario mikrotune has much better display, suitable for outdoors. It's got a square on/off button, the old one has a round.

But the old one does become a bit dimmer, even if it still functions on a used battery.

The one that I have been using recently is the new one and fairly new, but it is super bright here in the Southwest (USA) even in shade

+1 on Unitune being brighter (and more accurate), but even it struggles in desert sun if the battery isn’t relatively new. I’ve switched my daily players to it.

If you like the D’Addario though, you might try the one that mounts under the headstock (you replace one of the tuning machine screws to mount it). I found that in NM sunshine I could still read it because it was in the shadow of the headstock.

It looks like the Unitone is a good option, thanks so much to Pops1 for suggesting it and NDO for the +1. Ordered from Sweetwater!
