Default Viking OM Gig Bag Review (From Hobgoblin)

The case that came with my OM is pretty heavy, so I picked up this gig bag: http://www.hobgoblin-usa.com/local/s...e-mandola-bag/

Here are my thoughts on it, in case it’s useful to somebody else (I would have liked to know more about the various bags I was looking at before pulling the trigger):
    - Materials and construction seem good.
    - Protection seems decent, but not as good as the hard case, and not quite as good as some other gig bags I’ve seen for other instruments — mainly that this one doesn’t have very rigid sides. The block the neck sits on looks good and its position is adjustable.
    - Fits my Weber Yellowstone (22” scale) okay. It’s only JUST long enough, and a little wide. But not bad overall.
    - Backpack straps and handle are nice.
    - Pocket is fairly large, but slightly too small for 8.5x11” sheets of paper, ya kinda gotta cram them in.
    - When you unzip it, it sorta doesn’t want to open all the way. Not a huge deal.

Overall, I’m pleased with the bag, especially for around a hundred bucks. My Reunion Blues gig bag is nicer (for an electric bass), but costs a lot more. And I don’t know if any of the ones Reunion Blues makes would fit an octave mandolin as well as this does.

Thanks. I assume this one would be too short for my Trillium since that scale I think is at least 23”.
