My Kentucky KM-1000B came with this backpack gig bag.

But, I use this Access Stage Three case, instead. I don't want to take any chances.

Thumb's up for the Access Stage 3. I have one for a guitar and it's a very comfy backback, lots of room for stuff in the front pockets, and almost as good protection as a foam case like a Travelite. One downside, however, is that I don't think the mando case has the kind of shoulder straps that will let it hang at your side. So for example if you were at a festival and had a knapsack with your lunch you'd have to carry the Access 3 by the handle or on one shoulder or something like that. AFAIK, but I could be wrong about this.

I have this Gator Lightweight case that came with some crappy backpack straps that I upgraded. Fits my F style with a tone guard. Love it. Only bummer is that I can't put stickers on it

+1 on the crossrock. Mine is an A style but it works great and the straps are handy.

Will you be trekking in the Himalayas? Personally, I do not want a mandolin (or any instrument) on my back. I prefer a single shoulder strap that puts the mandolin sort of at my side or partially under my arm, with the lid facing in. I like it where I can see it and keep it with me, not behind me.

Reunion Blues. A little pricey but good protection and comfortable to carry. I like my crossrock case/straps but don’t know that I’d want to hike for miles with it. But, then, I’ve never tried it.

I use the rectangle for my 814v. It also worked for my Jessen A-oval.

I've had good experience with the Travelite. Sold one with a mando, so picked up another one to have "just because."

My Northfield Airloom Recurve with the add-on backpack straps has been wonderful for me. Lightweight, protective, and decent storage space. Only down side is that it’s got a tweed covering, so if case stickers are your thing, you will need to buy the “natural” color option. It also runs $300 after the strap add on.

I use a Boulder Alpine Deluxe. $65 on Amazon. Straps completely detach if you are just going to hand carry.

Anyone know where you can buy a Travelite case these days? They seem to be of stock everywhere?

This Gator Lightweight Case looks like a close substitute, or this Access Stage One bag might be a contender. And they have outside pockets (the Travelite I had did not).

I have been using the Gator for several years. Decent protection, lightweight and a good amount of storage. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...-case-mandolin

Boulder Alpine gig bag or a Travelite foam case. Own both of them and both are good but different, solutions.

I want the shoulder straps with me, but don't always want to use them, which means there has to be a way to "capture" them, similar to the way the Access Stage 3 does. I don't want to mess with removing, and figuring out where to store the straps when I'm already carrying too much stuff. Too many of these cases also have no internal storage pockets, which is just annoying. The outside pocket on mine is too flat to store a tuner without it getting broken. At least give me a space to put a tuner where it won't get crushed. I usually have a cotton cloth with me and I roll up the tuner in that and put it in the headstock area, but still...
