    Default Kimble AO #101

Even before listening to the Will Kimble Mandolins and Beer podcast I was curious about the whereabouts of Kimble AO #101 that I ordered from Will. It was a great mandolin and I miss it . I had ordered based on really digging a plain Kimble oval that David Long was playing at the time.

Anybody know where it is these days? Still making music I hope.

Here it is from 16 years ago Kimble starts around :33

Man that sounds awesome! I remember when you had it and always admired it! When did you sell it?

Thanks. I sold it 12+ ago because I bought a Gilchrist oval hole. Part of my “catch and release” program .

I then sold the Gilchrist oval and finally settled on a Kimble A around 12 years ago. The Kimble A will be going in for its second refret soon. I really bonded with the Kimble A and have played hundreds of gigs with it. These days my only other acoustic mando is a carbon fiber Mix A style.
