    I dont know if its me but I swear i can see a reflection of a tiger on the back,, or something with eyes looking out

    Sorry about the fuzzy pic of the peg head, but as those of you who have experience with Brentrup mandolins know, there is nothing fuzzy about a Brentrup. The back has an interesting figure in the wood that is cloud-like, but I suspect that some of what you see is a reflection of light when the picture was taken. So, this is a 2005 Varnish, red spruce top, one piece maple back, "Bluegrass" model. It is superb in tone, playability, fit and finish, and definitely "eye candy." If you are on-the-fence about getting on Hans' waiting list, jump off and go for it. My opinion is that you won't be sorry!
