Love it! Who needs a scroll?
I've never seen this type of Dude before. Supercool in all its simplicity.
I was looking back over the postings in the thread and do believe the pic of a Dude shown in Jim Roberts' postings ##220-222 are of Dude #36, not #38. I am fairly certain of this, as #38 is an F-5 style mandolin.
The young fellow in the picture is holding #38 & he liked it.
Are those photos Dude#49?
Also ask Lynn what numbers are on the bench now.
Hi folks... the "1A" photos are of #49. I'm currently building mandolin serial numbers in the mid-50's (various stages of completion right now). I built guitars for a good portion of 2009 and am back to mandolins again.
Happy New Year to all!
Lynn
Evan...you are correct as it is in fact number 48. The owner really enjoys it, too!
Here's to a peaceful 2010 'round the globe.
"Goodin"Yes that is #49 in my avatar, but #49 belongs to another cafe member. My 1A should be finished this March. I understand your excitement.
That 1A is simply gorgeous, love the finish.
Here is the latest from Lynn, #61. Enjoy!
Love the maple!

Reviving this old thread...
Here are pics of #63. Engelmann over Red Maple. Top is from the same logs as Chris Thile's #5 and #14. Here is a video of Travis Burch playing the instrument before Lynn scooped the fretboard and added markers for me:

Although this thread is several years old now...
I purchased #63 (see other post) on consignment from Lynn. And I echo many of the previous posters in saying that as MARVELOUS as his instruments are...the MAN far and away exceeds them. Lynn is certainly in the "1%" as mentioned previously. He is a tremendous human being (and obviously a gifted craftsman/luthier).
Thank you Lynn...for just being YOU...on behalf of all of us.
