a pawn shop in town had one for $40 so I picked it up. they said I could return it in a couple days if i didn't like it. Anyone have experience with it? I'll be using it for a my mando.

In the little research I have done I found it is a hypercardoid and can get pretty high levels beofre feedback.

I have used an om3 for vocals and like it a lot however you should be aware that you will need to be very close to this mic to get the best sound, thats how they get high gain before feedback, with a real tight pattern. It should be ok for mando I quess I would say its a little brighter and louder than a sm57. I paid 50 for the last one I bought and I thought that was a very good deal.
