    Hi,

I may be getting festival/spring fever here, but I am going to a 3 day jam session at a dear friends home this weekend. What do you take in your must have "go bag" to festivals and/or jams? I take the following:

    1) Mando (of course) with extra strings, picks, wire cutters, tuner, and dust cloth
    2) A chair of some type
    3) A warm jacket, no matter how warm the weatherman says it will be
    4) A cooler with appropriate beverages...in case of an indoor jam session, probably just beverages
    5) Change of clothes
    6) Tylenol and appropriate medications.

Anyone take anything else? Can't wait for the Jam this weekend in Michigan!

May consider a recording device, oh, and a change of undergarments

You know, something I have been doing more of lately is taking along a camera. I just have to remember to use it!

Alan-good suggestion on recording device-no comment on the other suggestion

Mandopete-a camera is something I have never thought of...

Tom C-I am actually from the Fort Wayne, Indiana area-not too far from Michigan

Sharpie for signing autographs, smelling salts for the swooning admirers, CDs and t-shirts to sell, latex gloves and tatoo needles, 100-count B vitamins (complex B's, heavy on the B-12 to get me up in the morning), vanilla soy milk and a large coffee cup for mooching off friends and neighbors.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but there's my list.

    Have fun!

My wire cutters got confiscated a few months ago by Phoenix airport security, but the Salt Lake airport security had looked at them and given them back. Funny thing is they would be legit under the new rules. In neither case did they recognize a threat in a couple sets of mandolin strings. I think I could kill somebody more easily by getting a mando string around their neck than with a stubby little wire cutter, but I've never tried it so I could be wrong.

How about a foldup mando stand? I guess if you only carry one instrument it can live in the case when you're not playing it.

An extra battery for the tuner. Never fails to die when you need it most!
