[EDITED]
The problem I had with tef file associations has been solved. It was some unknown issue in the OS not tabledit. Reinstalling Win2000 in non-format mode fixed it.

Hey Bob,
It looks like you need to associate TEF files with the Tabledit program. Right click on any of the TEF files and then select Properties from the drop down menu. In the second section down you'll see two lines: Type of File and Opens With. At the end of the opens with line, there will be a button that says Change. Push this button.
If TablEdit appears in the program listing, select it and click OK. If not, click on the Other button and use the browse menu to find it, select it, and then click OK.
This should take care of your problems.

Hi Bob,
When you say that Tabledit wouldn't stay on the list do you mean that the file wouldn't stay associated with Tabledit or do you mean something else?
When you originally associated the TEF file with Tabledit did the file's icon change from the generic icon to Tabledit's?

Go to TablEdit's website and send an email to the designated contact. I had a similar problem, but I don't remember the fix. I do know the contact person got back to me pretty quickly with the answer, as he has on some other issues.
