My sons gave me a "folk song fake book" for Christmas and it has this song but no notation about tempo. #I sounds good to me played with a slow tempo (almost like "Amazing Grace"). #Anyone familiar with this song enough to tell me if I'm on the right track?

    Thanks...

ps-the subject subtitle should be "tempo" not "temp" - why can't you edit the topic???

Here's some older sheet music that has the tempo as allegro moderato, so it's moderately fast (whatever that means). There's a trombone recording (???) of it about halfway down the page here. There's an odd bluegrass recording about 2/3 of the way down here. Neither of them are too fast.

A bit faster than Amazing Grace but not quite as fast as a march.
