no... it should not be leaning forward, although this is a natural tendency... as you tighten the strings, it tends to pull forward on the bridge.
How to fix it? It could just be a matter of loosening the strings, pressing the bridge back towards perpendicular, and then re-tightening with attention to maintaining the bridge's position.
However, there may be other problems. You may need to determine whether it is just the top piece that is leaning, or whether it is leaning from the base on up. If it's the top, it could be that the posts are bent, or that the top piece is loose on the posts and so has room to lean. If it's from the base, is the base making firm contact with the top of the instrument or is it pulled up on the tp end? Is the shape of the base creating the lean? Is there any sinkage in the top? All these tihngs are ways to suss out the cause of the problem in order to look for the right strategy for remedy.
Re: your pickup wire.... if the wire interferes with your ability to place the bridge accurately for intonation and proper position, then the wire is too short.
