Chipper Thompson and I will be taking our globe-trotting, genre-blending duo bouzouki music on tour in the Midwest and Southeast next April!

We're booked for two days at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, April 13-14th, so we'll be looking for other concert and workshop opportunities on either side of those dates.

If you're in NE, KS, OK, TX, AR, MO, IL, IN, OH, KY, WV, VA, TN, GA, AL, MS, SC NC, get in touch if you'd like to present a show or can refer us to someone who would. We'd love to see y'all!

Take a look at our Janissary Stomp website: http://janissarystomp.com

Roger, will any song samples ever get put on the website?
I'm quite interested in the CD but wouldn't mind hearing a few more snippets.
(The clip that plays on the intro page is great - if it's more of the same I'd definitely buy it!)

    Geez, Unc!

Buy it! #Take it on faith! #This is GREAT stuff.

On the other hand, you've most likely never heard anything like it. #There simply -isn't- anything like it, and I know
how scary it can be facing unknown music...

    <GG>

How about... #You go ahead and buy it and if you don't like it, I'll buy it from you, but I think you'll really like it.

I'm sorry if my caution appears stupid or comical to you.

Not that I have to justify my position, but:

I'm in the middle of sinking all my available cash into a new mandolin.
I'm not earning any money at the moment as I'm a mature student with a year left at college.
I'm getting married in 6 weeks and this is costing a few bob.
We have an eight-year-old at home who will insist on eating, growing and all that sort of stuff...

I'm sorry to be spreading it a bit thick here but basically I'm having to be careful with what I spend on CDs at the moment. (Oh, and being in the UK, I'll have to wait quite a while after paying until I get the CD.)

The JS website song list page says "When downloadable samples are available, this is where they'll be!". I was only asking if they would be available sometime.

I imagine that I'll love the CD as I'm a zouk fan and owner (Oakwood) so I'm probably right in the middle of the target demographic.

I've even got a "3 Mustaphas 3" CD so there's not much music that can scare me off, unknown or otherwise

    Hey Brendan,

<< I'm sorry if my caution appears stupid or comical to you.

Not at all! The Two G's "<GG>" are my versions of emoticons or the 'smileys, like you used at your last line.
I was meaning irony, but not meant to be so at your expense.

<< Not that I have to justify my position, but:

You don't and I don't deserve it, either! <GGG> (see this time there are three of them, that means more humor than two of 'em)

<< I've even got a "3 Mustaphas 3" CD so there's not much music that can scare me off, unknown or otherwise

Only one?!?! <GGG> Good stuff, that.

    All the best,

Yeah, we're working on it, but I will say that if you like the tag on the homepage you will probably like the whole CD.

I think I was being somewhat over-sensitive last night!

    Hey Roger,

it's a bit late, but why not join in on the Irish Folk Festival going through Germanny? It's quite good and I would definitely try and catch one of the dates if you guys were in on it?

    Roger,

Tell us more about the U.K. dates? I'm in Lexington!

(By the way, Louisville is Lexington's ugly sister, in case you weren't aware. No need to go there.)

    Roger,

Hope you make it to Lincoln again. That Hussie house concert was a blast!

... and if any of ya'll ever get to hear them live ... see if you can get them to up the tempo on "Mummies". It was a real foot-stompin' trip!

    Kevin,

And I was amiss at inquiring as to 'U.K.' dates. University of Kentucky!!! Pretty obvious to us UK grads, but not to everyone on the planet I suppose...

The U.K. in KY (the bluegrass state of Kentucky) in other words!

    :-)
