    Anyone know?

    I used to tune a tenor banjo to DGBD just to play barre when I got lazy, but have heard lately about "slide" mandolin, and would like to give it a try.

    Any favourite tunings. Any tunings at all?

    Anyone play slide mando?

    With thanks;

    Epi

    perhaps, 1&5 lower and higher, IViv like, GDgd ,FCfc, etc , no 3rd, so major or minor difference is omitted,,, aka power chord

    Seems like I read somewhere that Sam uses DADA on his slide but that would need to be confirmed here by somebody cause I don't recall where I read that.

    Gotta post my favorite thread on the subject. Niles is da man! That link goes to the picture and a few posts down he explains it.

    I've played slide mandolin using GDGD, ADAD, occasionally GDAE, and on tenor guitar CGCG, CGDG, DGDG... lots of possibilities.
