I have just learned/transcribed the Bulgarian fiddle tune played by Mike Marshall and Chris Thile on the Woodsongs webcast. You know, the one in 25/16

Who knows where I might find some more of these fun tunes? Tab or notation, it doesn't really matter (though tab doesn't convey rhythm very well).

If you'd like to see my transcription of the Woodsongs version, just ask!

What the hell, here it is! Inside the zip file are two pages of notation, in tiff format. As I said, all the numerous repeats, harmonies etc. are absent but the four main parts are there.

I play a bunch of tunes out of this book. Some really cool tunes in there.

The above mentioned "Eastern European Fiddle Tunes" by Pete Cooper is a terrific collection.

The copanion CD helps because some of the rhythms you just have to hear to get.

Bulgarian or Romanian tune on an old bowlback mandolin, on the porch one hot summer evening with a cold glass of Yuengling Lager. You know, things could be a whole heck of a lot worse.
