I just removed the back and sides from the mold. When I eyeball along the head and tail blocks I can see a slight twist in the body. when I glue on the top will it bring it back in line or do I have to do something to take the twist out before I glue on the top... Really need some help here...Thanks Lab

I'd *guess* if the back is already glued on, attaching the top may force it into a "Split the difference" kind of situation.

I think what I would try would be to put it back in the mold and make sure the rim lies flat on a good surface, then moisten the back and let it set a couple of days in the mold before putting the top on.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Thanks for the tip Ron...The thing that bothers me is...When I place it back in the mold everything is square and level. The way it should be. If I glue on the top ,will it stay square and level when I take it out?...The back has a nice even curve and it looks good. I would hate to have to take the top off and redo...Lab

Could you take a series of small clamps and just clamp the top in place to see what it does? It might just flatten right out! Wherever it is when you glue it together is likely where it's going to stay.

When you say it is warped, how much gap is there between the ribs and a table top at the highest point when you lay it on a flat surface?

The highest points are about 1/8" on opposite corners....

I'd bet thare are a LOT of really high priced mandolins out there that were that far off when the top got glued on. It probably takes very little pressure to flatten it out. If you lay the top in place and squeeze the gaps out with your fingers, does it pull it flat? If so, I'd glue it up.
