    Greetings,

I've been an avid reader here for the past year or so. I must say that I'm simply amazed at the beautiful pictures of mandolins and their owners, videos that I've watched, and sound clips that I've listened to.

I'm a rank amateur mandolin player at best. I have 3 in total, a no name that my dad bought for me many years ago, a mando built by Hans Hauser (1950 era, I believe) and a newly acquired Eastman 615.

I picked up the Eastman because I've always been a fan of Seals & Crofts music since the 1970s and I planned on recording a few covers of their music.

    Uh oh!

I've been reluctant to post knowing that this style of music isn't exactly traditional mandolin and because my mando skills are limited.

I do have a couple of S&C covers, but I thought post a cover that I did of "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young.

It's just my guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and my attempt at singing.

I hope to continue hangin' round these parts.

    Harvest Moon

Yeah, but where's the picture of your mandolin?

you'd probably get more attention to this if you create a new post under either 'looking for information about mandolins' or 'vintage instruments.' Just a suggestion.

I'm with Randi, above. This is not a thread of first posts, but someone's first post from 2007.
