I just picked up some Bluegrass W-BG140s, haven't arrived yet. #I'm curious, not committed. I like the look of the TF-140's better (I'm devoted to Pro Plec at the moment), but I'm so cheap I like the idea of 4 for 15 bucks, better than 2 for 15. #Looking forward to 'em!

I love my M150's. They are the only mando picks I use. I like the white ones because they're easier to find when I drop them.

I hear what you are both saying here and dont get me wrong, I agree to an extent....
But, I do think with this type of pick you need to dig in a lot more for the cutting/ chopping tone and when you do the rewards are worthwhile.
Also its much easier to play in a mellow fashion (something I have trouble with using some other picks)

You use what works for you, your style, your instrument and the sound you hear in your head.

Last weekend I drove to Elderly to try out the Tortis (RedBear) pics and decided to stick with the Wegen that I've used for 3 years.

The only pick I've ever coveted was a real tortis shell pick that a friend has but I've tried others and haven't found one that I like as much. It seems to have just the right density, thickness and shape.

Is there anyplace where you can buy some single picks of the different styles instead of the 3 packs?

My W-BG140s just arrived. I was prepared to be completely UNDERwhelmed; I really don't play bluegrass, I should have got the TF 140's for the shape, why was I so cheap, etc. #But wait #. . . I LOVE these picks! #They sound great on all of the instruments I've got and they feel spectacular. #I've never thought a pick could make an instrument more playable, but I honestly feel my playing is cleaner and #bit quicker. The tone is really even and full. #And they feel great in your hand - easy to grip, lightweight and stable.

    Wow- I'm sold!

    Brad,

That's how it starts. Pretty soon you'll be wearing overalls, chewing tabacco, and playing Big Mon.

Tney're great picks. I've got a whole range, even TS, but the Wegen is all I use.
