Would any of you cafe members that have acquired one of these carbon fiber A5 mandos care to comment on the playability , sound and over all impression of these mandolins by Peter Mix ? They look quite interesting.

there are extensive threads on these if you search the archives
I had an opportunity to play one of Peter's carbon fibre creations at yesterday's rehearsal of the Providence Mandolin Orchestra. I don't know if it was the prototype or a production model. Very easy to play, very loud with excellent dynamic range, fit and finish is perfect -- all in all, an outstanding pro-quality instrument. I am not a bluegrasser, etc. so I cannot comment on its suitability for such musics but for classical/mandolin orchestra material it is excellent. Certainly it rivals my main instrument, a Collings MT-2.

Are they making F style mandolin yet?
Jim,
Peter said in a recent thread the F-prototype will be ready for an upcoming show (NAMM I think...).

Edit: See Page 2 in this thread for Peter announcing the Mix F5 for Summer NAMM debut.
