    I think it's 76550, new to the F5j & Archive. The condition is unbelievable/incredible in those photos

    It's 76551 with Virzi 10103 and I believe the only Fern to be signed on the 24th in March. I've had photos of it since the 80's but they are not this clear. This shows possible french polish job along with new frets and many pick straches on the big scroll. The ulitmate DMM varnished Fern! I'd say judging from Gruhn's photos this one is a real killer sounding one even with the Virzi intact. However usually Loars this fine don't get to the listing with photos. They are sold before they get to the photo booth so rest assure it's been turned down by several high end collectors. I'm surprised it's not more than $200K.

    There are two known March 24th '24 Fern Loars (so far). The other is in the Archive, serial #76554.

    The mandolin's finish is original, according to both Larry Wexer and George Gruhn.

    My mistake, it is 76551 as others have said. 76550 was recently documented (first new Loar added to the journal/archives in a while), though I have no other information beyond the signature date at this point
