Just finished watching the movie and that crazy fiddle tune is rattling around in my brain. Unfortunately, it wasn't something I own and can replay to catch all the notes with the rewind button. No luck while searching Google or Mandozine for the TablEdit files.

Anybody out there figured this one out and willing to lend a hand?

    Thanks!

It is a long time since I saw and enjoyed that movie. As I recall some of the music was written by Dougie MacLean, you might try that avenue for a search.

I thought the one was called 'The Storm". It was the one being played during the chase seen up the mountain trail.

There is also a somewhat famous newish tune called "The Storm" by Davie Spillane, but that's entirely different. #The original tune in question (as credited by the soundtrack) was named "The Gael" #by Dougie MacLean (I suppose "Gael" sounds like "gale", which could be perceived as storm-like). #That tune appears in several places on the soundtrack: "The Kiss", "Promentory", and kinda "Stockade" and "Top of the World" (harmony and counter melody only with MacLean's tune removed).

Thanks for the clarification Eugene. I learned it long ago and yes going from memory I pictured a storm (Gael-gale) and always thought of it like that.

Anyone know the fiddle tune at the square dance in "Silverado"? Since we are head scratching. Simple tune but, no clue as to the name.

Hmm, where did you get that information? The original Gaels were Irish. And while there is indeed a portion of the Scottish Highlands where Gaelic language/culture spread, the term itself is much, much older than the 18th century. Like, about a thousand years older (from the Old Irish language).

    Mercy!

A blast from the past! Happy to say I was able to figure the tune out, and that was quite satisfying.

    Cheers!

    Good stuff Eddie!

And holy cow, you've got quite a nice line up in your stable. I'm really digging the zouk you were playing.

    Thanks for sharing...
