    Hi folks,
I need your help. One of my late grandmonther's favorite songs was "Barney Google" I have no idea where she got the tune. (I know Spike Jones did a version of it, but that post-dates the version my uncle has sung for me.)

So we're having a reunion this summer, and I know my uncle will ask me to play it. Problem is, his acapella version, while on-key makes it hard for me to pick out chords. You can hear it here: http://www.gcast.com/user/Jonnestlerode/podcast/main

One more thing: Because of an interesting and very minor learning disability, I cannot sight read music. So straight sheet music will be nearly useless to me.

I could really use a chord chart for it. Any have one or know where such a thing can be acquired at a reasonable price?

    Thanks!
    Daniel

    Daniel,

I have a copy of the music. It is in a book called The Remick Collection of Popular Songs with Ukulele Accompaniment. by Zahr Myron Bickford who played a number of instruments and wrote one of the most important early 20th century mandolin tutors among other things.

The song is by Billy Rose and Con Conrad.

I'll dig it out and transcribe the chords for you later tonight or tomorrow. I'll be too busy the rest of this afternoon.

I think the chords are all written out in notation -- otherwise I'd just scan it for you.
