Sorry, no pics BUT I had the pleasure of seeing Ahley Broder and Jamie Laval perform last night. If you like Celtic music this is a MUST SEE. I don't like Celtic music at all, but I LOVED their playing. Ashley is a great musician and her approach to the mandolin, from a violinist perspective, is soooo refreshing. Her chord use is unique and her sense of accompanyment is perfect. Jamie's violin playing was perfect, and together they made an incredible pair. Nothing was overplayed and everything was polished. Check out their tour schedule and support these two, you won't be sorry.

Agreed. Heard them for the first time a couple months ago at the Swannanoa Gathering; a truly inspired duo. Hard to describe...just fiddle and mandolin, playing mostly traditional Irish, Scottish or old-time tunes, but VERY imaginatively arranged, and with a great sense of humor. Check them out here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/jamielaval2
Jamie's first CD is amazing too: http://cdbaby.com/cd/jamielaval

Ashley and Jamie were just here in my neck of the woods. Here's a photo from
their show in Sutter Creek, California.

    Definitely, go see them.

You don't even have to be interested in the genre or genres to enjoy what these two do on their CD and in their show...

they are fine musicians who bring lots of spirit to the material

    ...not to be missed!
