It saddens us to bring the news of the loss of Bill
Sullivan early this afternoon. He was surrounded by
his family and close friends at the time of his
passing. He will be dearly missed by so many, although
his legacy will continue on through his contributions
    to the banjo world.
Please keep the Sullivans in your thoughts and
    prayers.
Information on visitation and service will be posted
    when available.

The first instrument I ever built was a banjo. Many of the parts came from Bill Sullivan when he was selling out of his basement.
In years since, I've had the pleasure of meeting him and some of his family. He was a great guy, and I'm sorry to hear of his death. I send my sympathy to his family and friends.

I've done some business with Bill and he was always a very decent gentleman. My prayers are with his family.

I met Eric Sullivan while shopping for my first Mando at FQMS last year. #He was very helpful and great to work with. #The Sullivan legacy is in good hands, and Mike, Merle and all the folks at FQMS make it a pleasure to do business there. #I'm sure Bill was very proud. #My sympathy to Bill's family and friends.

I was in the store once and Bill came out of the shop to see a banjo I had brought in, and take some time to ask me some questions about it (20s Vega tubaphone)I liked him right off, I am saddened to hear of his loss. He was a first rate guy, and owned one of the best music stores in the country.

I have done business with FQMS for nearly 15 years. They talk the talk and walk the walk. I would say that this is as honest of an orginization as you could ever hope to do business with. I guess that Bill will be fitting rims and making necks in heaven now. I guess God had his instrument work backing up. Too bad for us that his gain is our loss.

Bill and his sons, Jeff and Eric, are the finest of people. Bill will be sorely missed by many, including me. I am praying for the family. God bless these wonderful people!

Mr.Sullivan was well known over here in the UK even years ago, when First Quality first started out. His company has been known for literally it's 'First Quality' service ever since.
My heartfelt condolences to his family & also the people that worked for & with him. I'm sure that a such reputable business can only be a reflection of the man & his personal qualities,

Very sad news indeed. When someone said "they walk the walk and talk the talk," they are exactly right. Bill was one of those rare "top-notch" individuals. And even at the size FQMS is currently, he helped it remain a truly "mom and pop" business. He will be sorely missed.

Condolences to the Sullivan family and friends. He left a great legacy not only to them but to all us pickers with FQMS.

Sorry to hear of the loss. I got a chance to go to FQMS once and it was the coolest shop that I'd ever been to. A really nice place.

I am truly sorrow to hear about Bill. It really is a shock. I had him to do a special MOP mandolin cover over the truss rod, a great job. I have spoken to each of you over the yrs. in buying a lot of stuff. Being a Sullivan myself I feel like family. They sure treated me that way. May God Bless each of you and care for you as you caring on the business. Jim Sullivan-Harrisonburg, Va. 22801
