Greetings to all - I've been a long time lurker and I'm quite impressed by the members and the respect shown.

The real reason for this message is to show off Doug Edwards spectacular work. The pickguard was designed by Doug and the stick-on armrest was my design. Despite what the picture shows, the armrest is a perfect fit and quite comfortable.

    Thanks for looking.

Nice. Doug made an armrest for me too a while back, and I'm very fond of it.

I just ordered an armrest from Doug on Wednesday, can't wait till it comes in! He was a great person to buy from too.

I'll add my name to the list of satisfied customers of Doug Edwards' Armrests.

Just got mine from Doug last week. I highly recommend his armrests - superb.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Kevin, here's a photo of the (L-R) semi-Hill, standard, and Hill style hardware. All work about the same, but have different look to them. I like the look of the Hill style even if they are a pain to install on the armrest.

    Looks good Kevin.

I guess now would be a good time to mention my monthly drawing for an armrest. I given away three now. There's a link on my mandolin page to register. Just once will do it, I don't delete them each month. I think someone from July's group won last month. This month I'll give away one of the new "McClung" armrests. Got to get the word out on those.

I've been one of the members lucky enough to win an armrest from Doug. #Mine is a bit more 'subdued' in appearance (ebony vs. figured maple) but is perfectly made and everything about it is top-notch. #Fits my Silver Angel quite nicely!
(I'll have to snap a photo of it sometime - it's out with my cousin's bluegrass band at the moment.)

Keep up the great work Doug!

This is the new armrest I put on my mandolin. It's the same dove pattern with Hill style hardware I had before, except it's my new "McClung" style. The armrest is angled upward toward the bridge. Basically low in the back and higher in the front. I love the way it feels while playing.

Doug - that new one on your Silver Angel looks great! #I think the hardware does a good job 'fitting in' with your tailpiece too.

    Keep up the good work.

I just posted a photo of my Doug Edwards custom armrest for a Big Muddy under its own topic in the "Equipment" category. Didn't see this topic first. I too am really impressed by his work and his helpful nature (my second purchase from him).

Forgive the "bump", for those not out Trick or Treating, I'll be drawing someone's name for the McClung armrest in the morning. You can register here:

    http://ntbbluegrass.com/mandolin.html

I have a real scientific way of selecting, I have my wife pick a number between one and however many names there are. The odds are good, not a great many signed up.

Woo hoo!! Yesterday was my birthday and to my surprize I received an e-mail from Doug telling me I had been selected for the free armrest giveaway. Thanks Doug for the great birthday present! I'll be in touch with my mando measurements. This should look really great on my A9!

I just received the ebony McClung armrest that I won in Doug Edward's December drawing. I haven't felt this lucky since I won a "Flashdance" t-shirt (anyone remember those?) in a drawing at a bar in Chicago sometime back in the 80's.

The armrest is beautifully made and is very comfortable. I originally won a rosewood rest, but Doug gave me a free upgrade to an ebony one to match the ebony pickguard I bought from him. Thanks Doug. A photo of the armrest is attached. I'll send a photo of the pickguard after I get it mounted.
