Here is my L&H Concert Shrine Uke. All KOA, with green binding, peghead inlay, position dots, nut and saddle. Wonderful player.

    History:
This shrine ukulele made in the 20's was apparently the inspiration of an application of Paul Arthur in 1927 assigned to Lyon and Healy according to John King, ukulele historian.

Cool instrument, but I'm not sure of some of your terminology. You said it's "the inspiration of an application of Paul Arthur in 1927". Not sure what this means, nor what the phrase "assigned to Lyon and Healey" means. I assume this is patent application talk, but am not sure.
    Thanks,

Yea, I don't understand it either. It's the info that came with the instrument. If anyone knows more, I'd like to know about it.

I know they made other instruments in the bell style. I assume it's a reference to the lower bout.

    The back . . .

WAY cool! Thanks for posting. REally dig the green binding.

That one looks more like a fancy version of the Shrine. Here is a Bell tiple (not mine). I have a mahogany Shrine uke also with green binding.

What is esp interesting about the tiple is the arrangement of the ten tuners.

Ukes are cool...way cool and yours is no exception. Re-entrant tuning sets the third and fourth string a fifth apart like a mandolin (except upside down) Maybe Scott will give us a uke section!
