No No No. The rattlesnake RATTLE goes inside your mandolin. The snake can stay out in the desert.

We just caught a 3 foot western diamondback rattler in our backyard 3 weeks ago. I guess he didn't see the sign: "Snakes Not Allowed!"

BenE: since you are no longer looking at this thread, I guess we can call you a big sissy behind your back!

Seriously though, I must admit sharks kinda freak me out too: "Jaws" and Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" have taken the fun out of going to the beach or snorkling for me. Whenever I am in the water, I keep hearing that Jaws attack theme in the background of my brain. (duh DUH, duh DUH, duhDUHduhDUHduhDUH...)

    Mandoholic,

Exactly what type of snake is that? Some type of rat or king snake?

Yes, but if your toilet ever backed up, I bet you'd reconsider...

BenE I don't blame you for being scared of snakes that's an emotion shared around the world(and for good reason) but this little fella was as gentle as a lamb.Alan that was some good snake spottin',this was a good old Louisiana King snake I've been told that these snakes will eat any other snakes that come around (including poisonous)so they're kinda like snake watchdogs. But for such a bad dude he was easy to pick up and acted like he was tame,I took him out of my case and sent him on his way.Zeke, that's a killer poster, did you get a rattler for your mando when you were there? And Django you're a wildman, but I still didn't get Luthier and Scotty's joke about Gruhn, wussup with that guys? Gruhn was a doctoral student in Psychology with a focus on biopsychology/animal behavior and a special interest in reptiles, if I'm not mistaken. I assume that's the connection.

First time assuming did anyone good.

George knows prewar stuff, sure, but his first love is herpetology, the man knows his vipers-n-stuff.

    Rattlers make great D-45 bodyguards.
