    Default Spinal Tap - Stonehenge

Does anyone have an accurate tab for the mandolin section in Stonehenge?

I don't but that's hilarious to think of doing that.

I'd love to help, but I'm currently consumed with dancing to the pipes of Pan...

My favorite Lynch film....Does the Twin Peaks Pilot count as a film? If so, that's it. If you count that as a T.V. Series, then Blue Velvet is my favorite.

But Twin Peaks is what I'm all about!

Noting today is the 23rd anniversary of the great Rockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. Indeed, years ago, someone named Nigel--never been seen around these parts since--provided the tablature for the famed Stonehenge theme which has been stored in our tablature archive since.

The movie came out in 1984. A little math...carry the 1...yup, it adds up: the years are flying by.

I've played this several times for contradances in medleys with standard fiddle tunes.

I'm learning to play this melody as well, I have the first half of it down, still working on second half

I found a great video of someone playing it, look up Karl Golden Mandolin Riffs on youtube.

The tab posted above, also the one I'm using, doesn't seem to match up with that little clip so I think that's where I'm roadblocking

but definitely a cool thing to have in the mandolin arsenal.

Turn your amp up to 11. Once again it's the anniversary of the release of Spinal Tap in 1984. A little Stonehenge action with mandolin follows, tablature submitted by someone named Nigel above.

I read an interview where one of the writers said they went on tour with Saxon to pick up ideas.
Twenty years ago I got to know the lead guitarist in Saxon. One day I was round at his house and asked him who in the world of rock n roll he'd had encounters with. He immediately recounted a tale of Suzie Quatro. Half an hour later he produced one of Jimmi Hendrix's guitars given to him by Hendrix's dad - the fact that Suzi was his go-to story struck me as very Spinal Tap.
    Here's my take...

If anyone wants a correct PDF of the tune, let me know and I can send it on. The one on ABC... has a couple odd notes and misses the octave on the B section. It's fine for the most part but if you're one of those guys that get bugged by details and don't like scribbling down notes I can hook you up.
