Forgive... if this has been posted before, but I'm wondering if anybody knows the detes on this little clip. #Wonderful tune. Alternate tuning? #Know the make of the mando? #That's the song I want to play when somebody says, "What does an octave mandolin sound like?"

I read more carefully on the guys youtube site -- the tune is original. He's good!

Looks like standard tuning to me. He does a few progressions up the neck at one point where it look like he is doing power chords (root and 5th) on the G & D. Nice playing and excellent sound recording. A lot of YouTube videos suffer from poor sound or bad lighting. This one is well done.

The OM looks to me like it may be a custom Weber, but its hard to tell.

Having 8" fingers prolly doesn't hurt either...

I've seen a couple of his clips and he's obviously very talented and the sound quality is so good I almost thought he was playing along with a CD or sumpthin'

    That really is nice.
The OM looks like a Weber Bridger with the rosewood side & back upgrade.

Looks like standard tuning from the chord shapes.

Sounds like standard, too. Looks to me like a Weber, also.

And he's playing fingerstyle, which you don't see that often. Very nice.
