Thread: Blue mule

I'm trying to work this song into shape with a guitar player friend/Rowan enthusiast. I can't seem to find chords for it, though I think I could figure it out if I bang my head against it long enough. But since I'm away from the mandolin currently, I thought I'd ask here.

So, what is that second chordin the verse? minor of some sort?

Also, with those diminished(?) chords in the chorus, is it the same diminished chord in each spot? I'm familiar with them but I haven't played much material that uses them. There are three different ones, right?

As I recall, in B chord.

    verse: I, II, V, I
Bridge: I, iv, then the dim, then V, I

    Maybe someone has it better.

This might not be it exactly, but it's closer

    Verse

    | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 1 |

    Chorus

    | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 1 |

    | 1 | 1 | 6m | 6m |

    | 5dim | 6dim 7bdim | 1 | 1 |

    | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 1 |

    | 5dim | 6dim 7bdim | 1 | 1 |

    | 5dim | 6dim 7bdim | 1 | 1 |

Try 1dim7|7dim7|2dim7|1 |1| Use these shapes in B: xx6767 xx5656 xx8989. Doesn't really matter, I just noticed that this thread is over eight years old.

Dang, what's old is new again. Cool tune that nobody picks no more.

The minor chord is a G#min (relative minor of B) and the dim that Dawgie got was a Bdim, I think he just did the inversions (moving 4-3-5-4 up 3 frets at a time).

Oh boy. I put guitar chord fingerings instead of mando fingerings in my post.

4354 3243 6576 are the dim chords for the outtro. The same chords work for the choruses, I believe.
