New Five Cents ... I believe I've got it now Mike. Thanks! Your recording really helped. I got with my fiddle player friend today to jam a little and he even sang some of the lyrics to it. Pretty cool tune. When he plays it he doesn't do the middle part that you do.

I have been really liking this OT fiddle tune lately. Maybe because it's a new one I've learned recently. "Lambs Wool Rag" Mando Mafia do an awesome version of it. It's a great fiddle tune. Tried to upload an mp3 of us jamming around on it but kept getting an error ... guess it's to large a file 8.42MB ??? Oh well

Sometimes the names of the tunes are so cool. I'm looking for help learning these, as I'm a poor reader of notation, but I can play 'em slow and know they're crackin' good. Put up audio of any of these, I'll be yer pal for life.

Hey Mr. Mike, Here's a fiddle version of "Jig of the Dead" I think it is a cool. Haven't tried to learn any of these yet but I also found some mandolin tab pdf. files I could send you of all but one of those tunes. Let me know if you would like those and message me your email and I'll send em up.

Big Mon continues to be one of my faves. Also Dixie Hoedown, Kitchen Girl, Lonesome Fiddle Blues, Fishers Hornpipe and Liberty.

Lady Be Good also works pretty good as a fiddle-kinda tune, but it's really more a jazzy instrumental. But get a bluegrass group playing it, and it's cool as the dickens.

From what I gather, there were more than one tune called The Flatulent Badger, and the one Mike sent was the only one that ever made it to print. No words, but it would be a fun songwriters challenge. The cybercensor would love it. I sourced these tunes from thesession.org. They've got thousands.

Far and away, Billy in the Lowground is my favorite* fiddle tune. I really like Whiskey Before Breakfast, and I'm working on adding that to my meager collection of playable songs.

*Interestingly enough, it's the only fiddly tune I currently know how to play. I imagine there's some sort of correlation there...

Like most people here, picking a fave is tough, but Bear Isle (aka Rhil Bheara) is the perennial favourite. Really like the start in E-major for an E-minor (dorian) tune.

Another fave is Farewell to Erin. I've been playing Farewell on various instruments for years, while I'm just starting to get Bear Isle under my fingers at a greatly reduced speed.
