David Catalfamo's cool F4:
Alan Dunwell's display, with an under construction octave with carbon fiber rod neck block reinforcement, maybe someone got a close-up shot of the detail:
Author and international traveller Graham McDonald and recent work:
A fine sounding mandolin by Steven Owsley Smith:
Douglas Fir burl electric by GD Armstrong, got dizzy just looking at this amazing piece of wood:
What zouk display would be complete without some of Dr Bobs so swell Sobell collection:
Looks like a good ol' time. Some very interesting instruments. Would love to attend this event one of these years.
Oh...and thanks for posting pictures. Seems like less and less people are bring back photos to share with the rest of us when they go to festivals, etc. I always enjoy the opportunity to enjoy vicariously, so this is much appreciated.

Also are those Sobell guitar-bodied zouks in the background of the last image archtops? The only guitar-bodied zouk of his I've seen, is Any Irvine's, which is a flattop with a pin bridge.

Oh yeah! Thanks for posting pics Bill. Keep them coming. And show some of your CBOMs. How many showed up for Zoukfest?
Hmm, was that my old Steve O mandolin?
Hey Bill,
Thanks for the posting, by the way if anyone out there is in the market for an Octave Mandolin , old wave makes the best on this planet. Heres a shot of the one I played, curly redwood top, really sweet piece. Thanks for sharing Bill

Heres a pic of 3 really talented luthiers, discussing where they'd put all that money they made!!
Which Steve O would that be? #I'm just an Irish-American hanging out at the cafe, admiring the zouks, and admiring your tunes!Originally Posted by (danb @ June 10 2008, 18:14)
har. I used to own a red Stephen Owsley Smith mandolin, I was just wondering if it's the one pictured :-)
No Dan, that's Dale Kennedy's mando that he bought from the guy in Alabama that SOS built it for.Originally Posted by (danb @ June 11 2008, 10:26)
